Our vision
The vision of The BOLD Academy Leadership and Excellence Academy is to support, nurture, and enhance the leadership skills of Black and Brown girls in Columbia. The goal of The BOLD Academy is to empower and uplift Black and Brown Girls through enrichment opportunities, leadership training, education, and positive identity development.
Goal
Provide enrichment opportunities for girls ages 12-17 in an academy setting. The academy provides speakers, demonstrations, presentations, workshops, sisterhood bonding, and mentoring. We also include a parent and family engagement piece and a field trip experience.
We will offer enrichment in different areas such as the arts, self-care, education, leadership, and sisterhood. At the end of the academy we will have a completion ceremony and provide one financial scholarship.
Objectives:
Provide academic support
Build self-esteem and self- worth
Increase exposure to fine arts
Empower girls to enhance their leadership skills
Provide opportunities for cultural exploration
Connect youth to the community at large
Participants will receive a 1/2 high school elective credit
